You rarely, if ever, come across anyone who hasn’t wanted to learn to play a guitar. Many of them will tell you that the Guitar sucks! They’re the ones who gave up too soon on learning how to play this fun instrument.
Maybe you already know how to play a guitar but you just want to explore ways to improve their playing skills. When you’re learning how to play the guitar you here guitar jargon, these types of words were created so guitar people are able to communicate with each other using their own language.
The speed and confidence you develop in making chord changes is key to mastering the guitar and successfully playing the instrument. You need to get comfortable with the position of your hands and fingers so you’ll be able to move correctly while playing the guitar. You don’t use your pinkie since it’s the shortest finger and isn’t useful in playing the guitar.
After you get your guitar, learning to play online is a must, it’s absolutely the best way to learn. Let’s face it this is supposed to be fun and not boring or frustrating.
Many people can’t learn or find it boring to learn from a book, and private lessons are much too expensive, it’s much easier and faster today you can, buy a DVD course or learn online. When practicing playing the guitar each time your practice you’ll see how quickly the practicing pays off and soon you’ll be a playing the guitar with no thought given to it.
When you first start out learning the guitar the positioning of your hands will feel strange. It’ll feel like you can’t move your hands correctly, to make this easier it’s ok to look at where your fingers are positioned and as time goes on you’ll no longer need to do this. The remedy for this is of course to practice reading the sheet music without looking at the fret board. Remember, there are many learning processes going on at the same time when you practice. Even as a beginner you should practice tuning the guitar so you can become better and better at it. You’ll need to practice often, try to create a schedule, make a plan and stick to it.
I suggest you make preparation, timing, and warming up a part of your routine when you practice the guitar. You’ll see how quickly you improve your skills. Don’t get in the habit of having your practice an hour before you plan to take another guitar lesson. You do however need to set a practice time and stick to it.
The easiest way to begin to learn how to play the guitar is to start with common chords. Remember you’re not the first to go down this road, we all had to start here. These chords will give you a great starting point because of how pretty they sound.
